Ondine scarf

A bientôt!

Introducing my new scarf!
Here is "Ondine". I just finished it, just at time to match with this chilly and misty weather.

I used the little (93m) skein that I handspun this summer: a blend of various materials including silk, mohair and angora, in soft shades of grey, light purple and green. When plying it, I added some mother-of-pearl buttons.

I had in my stash some laceweight yarn that I found in a yard sale: soft and fluffy, in pale shades of grey, pink and blue.
I casted on 50 stitches, worked 6 rows of garter stitch at beginning and end of the scarf , and knitted the full lenght in stockinette stitch, alternating my stash yarn and randomly disposed stripes of handspun yarn.

I'm very happy with this project: the scarf is now wrapped around my neck and is warm and soft, and I'm very proud and satisfied with the final result!

See you soon!

hex 'addicte

Tout a commencé  / All began There

When I saw this project , I knew I had to make something like this too!

So I searched the mini hexagon pattern tutorial that I found HERE

Et... TADAAAMM!
Mes premiers hexagones!

Here they are!! my first hexagons!

It will be a curtain to isolate a little a glass door. But I wonder if it will be ended before the spring, as I need about 800 hexagons..

A bientôt!

Serpentine

A bientôt!

A little lace stole, knitted in a soft tweed yarn.
I worked 8 repeats of the chart (instead of 7 as wrote in the pattern) because it was a bit too short...

It will be a Christmas's gift for a dearest friend of mine, I hope she'll like it.

See you soon!

Vestes d'automne

A bientôt!

No doubt this time: Fall is here! the chilly , grey and misty weather helped me to finish some WIP.

An eggplant kimono jacket, pattern designed by Vicky Square in her book "knit kimono too".
I find it a little bit too short for me, but I think I could wear it nevertheless.

And my 4th "kimono récup'" jacket, patterned by "La Droguerie": a mindless project, easy to knit, and a good stashsbuster. I don't really like the colour of the yarn, but this one is very comfy and warm.

(And as my friend CrazyButSound liked it a lot, I'm kniting  the same for her Christmas's gift!)

See you soon!

Empreintes

A bientôt!

Somme spinning to share with you this week.

" Empreintes 1 " is ended: a beautiful hank of approx. 400 m  for 100g. I plyed it rather loose so that the thread remains swelling.
The final result is not completely what I had planned: the fact of spining tin and of plying it diluted a lot the tracks of color in the thread, what gives a very pastel result  and much less contrasted than what I wished to make.

Received this week, the batts which I had ordered to CHRISTIE : A real marvel! Magnificent materials  and vibrating colors. They are planned for a yarn for me, I just have to think about the way I am going to spin them so as to get enough  for a shawl.

And anyway, I have at first to spin the wool to knit the Christmas present of the Yeti: a  home made blend  of alpaca and  black welsh  (50/50), devilishly soft. A little bit technical to spin- I had never worked the alpaca before, and I need a time of adaptation.
I am going to make a fingering light for a quite soft and very sober scarf .

I took advantage of the fact that the camera went out (and also did the sun ) to redo some " Minerva's " photos...
