Du neuf avec du vieux

Deux petites tuniques pour l'été, pur recyclage.

Some upcycling sewing today...

Tunique prune : un drap pur coton qui etait trop déchiré à un angle pour être réparable et un col ancien en dentelle aux fuseaux trouvé dans une brocante

For this one I used a bed linen (it had a hole that I couldn't mend) and an antique bobbin lace collar that I found on a yardsale



Tunique grise : une nappe coton/lin et un découpage de motifs dans une chemise en tissu africain

And for this one, I used a grey cotton/hemp tablecloth and appliqué was made from a shirt in african fabric



 rien ne se perd, rien ne se crée, tout se transforme...

Gingko (2)

Enfn finie!

 Une tunique longue dont j'ai repris le patron sur un vêtement acheté il y a trèèèèès longtemps et qui dormait au fond d'un placard, devenu trop petit.

Et une branche de gingko pour l'égayer un peu .

Je pense que d'autres suivront, peut être un peu plus courtes.

At last finished!

I made this long tunic by copying the pattern of a garment that I bought a looooong time ago, wich had become too small.

I embroidered a branch of Gingko to have a OOAK piece :-)
 I think I'd made some others in a wile, (but I'll probably make them shorter)

Coté couture

Une belle rencontre... et des après midi de partage

Aline a des doigts de fée, et elle m'a redonné envie de coudre.

 Résultats= 2 tuniques sans manche dans ma garde robe.


Une en laine bordée d'un biais maison

et l'autre en coton avec des appliqués.

I met someone special. Aline is a very talentuous stitcher and sewer.

We spent some afternoon working together and she's a fantastic teacher.

Here are the results:

A grey wool pinafore , trimmed with a homemade bias

And a black one with some embroidery and appliqué

And it's finished and ready for hand quilting.

Je l'avais commencé il y a plus d'un an... et devant l'ampleur du travail j'avais reculé.

J'ai finalement décidé de le reprendre, et de m'accrocher jusqu'à ce qu'il soit fini.

Ce sera donc le quilt de l'année, dont je posterai les progrès régulièrement.

The nebraska quilt: an antique quilt , my inspiration for this project/ ma source d'inspiration pour ce projet: le "nebraska quilt", un patchwork ancien.

I began this quilt more than a year ago... and let it hibernating for a while, because I was afraid I couldn't be able to make it.

I decided to hang on, and to work on it little by little 'til it's completed.

This is the "quilt of the year", I'll probably post monthly the progress of this project.

Une robe chasuble sur le même modèle que celle ci.

A pinafore dress on the same pattern as this one.

BATIK .

Un envol de fragments appliqués et quiltés à la main, un par un.

A flight of applied fragments hand stittched, hand quilted, one by one.

Une robe qui me correspond... Qui reflète ce que je suis.

A dress which corresponds to me... Which reflects what I am.
