Depuis 30 ans elle fait partie de ma vie. Des bons et des mauvais moments...

Une autre vie commence sans elle. La séparation est difficile et me prend beaucoup d’énergie...

Ma vie sans la clope a commencé hier...



A big challenge for me : I quit smoking.

I'm addicted to cigarettes for about 30 years... and it's quite hard for me to stop. 

a new life begins.

Mi parcours (half way)

En début d'année je m’étais fixé quelques objectifs...

In my first post of the year I set some goals

En ce milieu d'année, il est temps de faire le bilan à mi parcours

We're now at the middle of the year and it's a good time to assess the progress:

Concerning the decluttering , I 'm half way to the goal= I managed to take 370 things out of the house, and  74 skeins of yarn

En ce qui concerne le désencombrement, je suis sur la bonne voie= 370 choses ont disparu de la maison et mon stock de laine accuse une balance de - 74 pelotes

Par contre pour les projets tricot (le châle shetland en soie et l'étole Orenburg), le peu de temps et d'énergie dont je dispose une fois que j'ai géré mon travail et la maison me font penser que je n'y arriverai pas cette année..

Concerning my knitting projects, my work and the homework let me so little time and energy left that I doubt I will be able to knit the Orenburg stole and the silk shetland shawl  this year.

En attendant, voici le dernier projet  : tricoté en coton naturel que j'avais en stock, et teint en noir.
Nevertheless here is the last finished project. I used natural cotton from my stash and dyed it black afterwards

Gradient Pink

Premiers essais de laine dégradée et de retors Navajo au rouet

First attempt in spinning a gradient single  and Navajo plying it

"Gradient pink" , 78 g, 167 m.


J'ai encore besoin de pratique ! mais pour un premier essai, le résultat n'est pas si mal.

I need to practise a lot more, but I'm quite happy with this first try.

Goth Diva Maebh

Le châle est fini,bloqué, prêt à offrir! / A new project finished

Modèle/pattern Maebh de Renée Leverington.

Je suis habituellement assez fan de ses patrons, mais j'ai trouvé celui ci particulièrement ennuyeux à tricoter et le résultat me déçoit un peu.

I usally love Renee's patterns, but this one was boring to knit, and I don't really like the result.

Par contre un grand plaisir à travailler la laine de Sophie , coloris GothDiva.  Fortunately,I had the great pleasure to knit with Sophie's Goth Diva lace!

And it's finished and ready for hand quilting.
